Visit the capital of Germany by highspeed rail.
Hamburg is Germany’s 2nd largest city and also one of Europe’s major ports. The home of the FIFA World Cup Stadium (also known as the AOL Arena or as the locals call it the Volksparkstadion). Hamburg takes its football seriously and has hosted the 2006 World Cup and other World Cup venues. If you’re a sports fan Hamburg is a must see city for you!
The Hamburg railway station is the main rail hub in Northern Germany and is considered a beautiful piece of industrial architecture system which includes an underground system, an urban rail system, a bus network and even ferries on the city’s various waterways.
Getting around in Hamburg is rarely if ever an issue for anyone, even the local tourist in itself. Refurbished in 1991 it has a beautiful arched glass roof that is over 450 feet wide. It is also located right in the middle of town, making it a short walking distance from the Inner and Outer Alster Lakes. The station is called the Hauptbahnhof and is fully integrated with a very efficient transport.
